Went here tonight for my bf's birthday dinner. Made reservations, but had to wait a good 5 minutes in the lobby to be seated. Totally fine. Was seated....waited for menus...finally our waitress shows up and awkwardly announces that a second server would be shadowing her all night. Cool. At first we figured she was training her shadow, but we quickly realized it was her shadow who was observing her, as a new hire. Also, totally fine. I really hate to say this and it takes a lot for me to complain about service, but it was pretty horrendous. There was not once a crack of a smile from our waitress, and her questions and instructions were super short, unfriendly, and awkward, for lack of a better word. I think she must have been nervous, to be being shadowed by someone obviously observing her every move and word. I would be, too! But geez - there was very little effort on her part. When you are paying this much for a dinner, you really expect top notch service, so this was disappointing for sure. Love the food (duh), atmosphere, and idea of the place. We had a great time, and will try again, hoping for some better service next time.
