I tried a class at Team Smandych once with a friend. She was looking for a good place to continue her kickboxing and joined Team Smandych at someone's recommendation. So I decided to join her one day for a 'technique' class. The gym was one floor with a boxing ring in the middle, mats all around it, and a small area with weights, balls, ropes, etc. I paid my drop-in fee and jumped in. The class itself was not nearly as much 'technique' as I'd thought it would be, and not as intense as I'd hoped. We did a few new moves, and some new combos, but did not get to 'fine-tune' our 'technique'. There were a lot of regulars in the class, of various fitness levels. Apparently the classes vary in intensity sometimes, because my friend said the other weeks she gets a really good workout, and this one was a bit weak. The instructor did not ask at the end if I'd enjoyed the class, which I was hoping they would. I would have asked them what other classes are offered and which would be better suited for me. I asked them about prices at the end and they answered my questions, without asking if I wanted to sign up for a membership. Price seemed a bit on the high side, but fair.
