I wish I could give 2 stars for the selection and pricing, and 4 stars for the fitting experience but I guess I'll just have to settle on 3...
LIKES
1. The bra fitting was a great experience. I made a reservation for me and my mom about a week beforehand for a personal fitting. I learned a lot of valuable things about how a bra should fit, bra types like contoured vs. seamed vs. demi and the good & bad about each. Also I discovered how proper bra fit was important for breast health.
2. I was able to try on several different styles of bras with different straps & cups to see how the different types affected my shape.
3. The bras were beautiful and the store carried many upscale brands and sizes not found elsewhere. The wide range of sizes was important for me as I was told I'm not the 34DD I thought, but a 32F.
DISLIKES
1. My biggest complaint about the store is the color choices they have decided to offer. Because I am half hispanic, some "nude" bras don't really look nude on me and when I wear white I need a slightly darker taupe color (I was told by my salesperson I wanted congac but looking at other bras I think taupe is closer to my preference). When I asked to try on a taupe or congac colored bra, my salesperson went to look but came back totally empty handed. I was told they had nothing that color in the store.
2. I also tried on other bras in green, blue etc., and when I asked about more practical colors I was told several times that they only stocked the "fashion" colors for those designers. Hmmm.
3. Some of the brands they carried could be purchased elsewhere for less money (Le Mystere, Chantelle, Fantasie are all sold at Nordstrom for example).
4. They also have a no return policy (only store credit or exchange) so I would prefer to buy at Nordstrom or another department store with a more flexible policy.
5. Not all the salespeople are as experienced as the one I had (who was the assistant mgr). My mom was disappointed in her experience and given incorrect info about where else she could find bras in her size. They also had a very limited selection for her and she walked away empty handed.
I may go back to Intimacy if I need something special for a romantic weekend and I definitely do recommend the bra fitting experience. However, I would not go back here to buy practical, everyday bras - especially when there is a good selection available for better prices on websites like Breakout Bras (which I used when I was nursing and had a good experience) or department store websites like Nordstrom.com.
