First Somm's Vault Wine Tasting & Member Mixer: with light bites on the front patio overlooking beautiful views of Camelback Mountain & the valley at Wrigley Mansion on a beautiful Saturday afternoon with light winds to keep us cool. The hors d'oeuvres were very nice (had them before at a beautiful wedding there during the reception before our sit down dinner-which was very delicious) & enjoyed the wine selections especially WM Brut NV & Santa Digna Reserva. "Wine is one of the most civilized things in the world and one of the most natural things of the world that has been brought to the greatest perfection, and it offers a greater range for enjoyment and appreciation than, possibly, any other purely sensory thing." -Ernest Hemingway Our wine selections were: Wrigley Mansion Cuvée Brut NV (Methode Champenoise), Seven Falls Cellars - Wahluke Slope, WA Cabernet Sauvignon 2013, Santa Digna Reserva - Central Valley, Chile Cabernet Sauvignon 2011, Rodano Chianti Classico - Tuscany, Italy Sangiovese 2010, Chalk Hill - Sonoma Coast, CA Chardonnay 2014, Cartlidge & Browne - North Coast, CA Sauvignon Blanc 2012, Field Notes Chardonnay - Russian River Valley, CA 2012. Light bites: Beef Wellington, Black bean and jack cheese empanada, Scallop wrapped in pancetta, Caprese Bruschetta, & Smoked salmon and cream cheese roulade on cucumber. Love this quote ;) "Men are like wine - some turn to vinegar, but the best improve with age." -Pope John XXIII
