Best bagels ever! Best breakfast in Vegas! Best cannolis in Vegas! Excellent service!
I came to The Bagel Cafe dozens of times when I lived in Vegas and especially when I worked in the same business complex this restaurant is part of on Buffalo, right off of the freeway. I visited recently while on a trip and it is the same amazing place. Voted 13 years now for Best Breakfast by readers of the Las Vegas Review Journal, this cafe with fresh bread, bagels, pastries, desserts, a deli and serving lunch too is a real gem.
My fave bagel was the pumpernickel and they still make it. Damn it is good.
I love the spinach and feta omelet. The cannolis are superb, the real deal, and they are huge. I recommend the latkes, eggs benedict, and chopped potatoes. The chopped potatoes have this tomato zing to them that is just right on the dot.
For lunch, get a sandwich that will have enough meat on it to feed three firemen. Try the corned beef. Yummy! Salads are great too and yes, my friend, they come with a bagel and cream cheese. If you can't eat it all, take that bagel home for a snack later because you can't waste heaven.
When it's warm and sunny, there's outdoor seating which makes the situation even better.
You can order ahead for carryout or go to the counter to your right upon entering to get your bread, dessert, sliced Boar's Head or anything else they offer to go. They also offer catering.
Portions are nice and big. I couldn't finish my omelet but I shoved it in because you can't waste food like this. I took the rest of my bagel to go. Oh man are the bagels the best. And big.
Get some kind of dessert and take it to go if you're going to explode. You won't be disappointed. You've got the black and white cookie, hamentashen, Mexican wedding, and holy mother, they even make cheesecake the right way - the NY way.
There's never been an issue with service here. A little blunt when they have a line out the door for people paying their tab but not at all rude, just busy.
You get your choice of the bread you want when you order breakfast, which is served all day.
A taste of New York in Vegas. Don't miss this.
Parking stinks because the cafe is in a business park that lacks parking to begin with and it super busy due to the popularity. It's worth dealing with it though.
The atmosphere is that of a deli. Simple but good tables and chairs with a NYC skyline painted on one wall and everything's clean. It gets pretty noisy when they are busy which is to be expected. You may have to wait 30 minutes for a table; they don't take reservations, this is a casual restaurant. However, it's worth the wait and service is fast.
I would not bring kids here simply because of how big the portions are and really, the food is just so amazing it would be wasted on a kid's palate. It is family friendly though so I'm probably just being a snob. ;)
