I recently went searching for a dessert (preferably easy!) for a family gathering. Two family members don't like spicy, one family member is allergic to nuts, one is lactose-intolerant, and two family members will only eat organic/natural. They don't make it easy. I came across Doc's Artisan Ice Cream. With five different flavors from Doc's (their ice creams, etc. come in pint containers), a 2-inch cookie-dough scoop, and some organic cookies from an organic grocery, I was able to put together an elegant (and very easy) dessert! Using the 2-inch cookie dough scoop, I put various scoops (4) of ice cream on a dessert plate (use the sorbets - made with coconut milk- for the lactose-intolerant), and an organic cookie on the corner of the plate. Dessert was a big hit!! ALL family members were happy. I was VERY happy - the easiest dessert to prepare. You will also need a regular (larger) ice-cream scoop - for when your guests come back for seconds! Everyone had their favorite flavors, but personally, I thought the Chocolate gelatto and the sea-salt caramel ice cream were the best. Doc is a genuinely nice person, and was very helpful in selecting the ice creams/sorbets for my very picky family. DELICIOUS!!! I will be a regular customer.
