I shop at this Home Depot all the time and have never had an issue until today when I went to return a recalled pop up kids tent that was purchased for my son from a relative. I went to the customer service desk and had all the components that go with the safety recalled childrens item. The associate stated that she would only be able to give me store credit since I didnt have a receipt for the item which I had already expected and had no issue with. Next she stated that she would not be able to give me the full price for them item because I did not have the receipt ( never heard of that ever no receipt you always get a store credit for the full price of the item). They gave me a do not sell sku for $3.32 and when she told me the refund she had the moxy to ask me if I still wanted to return it. Really its a safety recall why would I want to keep something that would have the potential to hurt my child. Next I asked for a Supervisor or Manager which the lady next to her stated she was and there was nothing she could do either. This was a horrible customer service experience and it only made it worse that is was a safety recalled item!!!
