Stopped in here for a late lunch with the husband. It was just before 3pm and Happy hour and the sign said Seat Yourself. Ordered a Summer Shandy and Blue Moon because MAJOR Drawback- no local crafts on tap? Took a little while for wait staff to come to table- not terribly long ordered drinks- appetizer- quesadilla - (order not placed because larger party was in) arrived 25 minutes after we let our server know.
Lots of TVs- no sound for any just music- no subtitles. All sports- bonus.
Quesadilla had fresh jalapeños and the was guac good. Salsa was pretty watery but excellent cilantro flavor. Greasy but good quesadilla.
Husband ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich, there is nothing on the sandwich except lettuce, he said it tasted okay but could use a bit more sauce.
Blue cheese tasted like ranch with blue cheese crumbles in it. Asked our server and she clarified that it's made in house- great for homemade but not what you expect in a blue cheese.
Onion rings were pretty good, they need some seasoning and then they would have been the best we've had.
I ordered a BLT on sourdough, it needed more toast on bread. Fries had no salt and were a little soft- not bad though. Advertised garlic mayo on sandwich but they must have been out because it was bright white mayo.
Unexpectedly some of our friends walked in and decided to sit with us after we had our food.
One of them ordered the BLT as well and surprisingly it HAD garlic mayo, toasted bread and fresh crispy French fries. CLEARLY different cooks! Suddenly disappointed in the lack of consistency.
The other ordered the Philly cheesesteak rolls. Crispy fried spring rolls with a horseradish dipping sauce. Pretty good!
Should have sat at high top because of large party. As it was too many ppl for the server. Poor girl. Good service- overwhelmed with party of 50 at four large tables. Not her fault
Atmosphere- typical sports bar, good energy.
Parking- ample , decor is great,
Hours- good location- close to Midwestern University
Specials- advertised clearly on each table. Staff knowledgeable on.
We won't be back for food but would come back strictly for Happy Hour. The lack of obvious consistency in the kitchen is disappointing. Great atmosphere for happy hour- could have been the large party but still good.
