I have not tried cannoli in Italy but I have had them in other countries and always found the filling to be dense and excessively sweet and the outside sometimes not very crisp.
I still would say I am not the biggest fan of ricotta but this one was filled to order, crisp and much lighter and flavourful than I have ever had. I think this was yummy so if you are a cannoli fan, definitely give it a go. They have a huge amount of choice and their other pastries looked lovely as well.
