I came here for the first time to grab some lunch for my boss, so I thought I'd grab something for myself at the same time. She requested the chicken and brie quesadilla (her fave), which was $12 plus tax. Wow, it's not cheap, but it sure does look good. There's also a lobster and shrimp quesadilla which I want to try, but not today. Being two days before pay day, I'm looking for something (anything!?) in my budget. I see a Classic BLT for $7 so I'm happy. There was a bit of a kerfuffle at the cash register when the girl wouldn't let me pay separately, however the manager was called over and he fixed it up for me, no dramas. Phew! The cafe itself is very cute, white tables and beautiful artworks. The sandwich cabinet looks devine, and everything in it looks so fresh and delicious. There's a lovely (narrow) patio outside opposite the Yorkville gardens so it's a really nice place to sit and enjoy your lunch hour. Now, to the sandwich. I was pretty impressed that the mayo (was it lemon aiolil? It was fab!) was served on the side in a little plastic container. However, as I was taking it "to go", it would have been nice for them to put a disposable knife and napkin in the bag. I had to use my finger to spread it on (thank god I had hand sanitizer handy). So, one star off for that. The rest of the ingredients were pretty skint. Two small rashers of bacon (cooked perfectly and delicious), one slice of lettuce and one cherry tomato cut in half (seriously), in between small slices toasted dark rye. It was delicious, but way too tiny for anyone bigger than a 10 year old. I had to hunt down some more food when I got back to the office. So, another star off for that. Overall, this place is pretty nice. I'd come back here for a dine-in lunch if I was feeling spendy.
