This was my second YEE and overall very enjoyable. What a great concept to bring Elites together to enjoy a summer pool party in Las Vegas! I was particularly intrigued since food events typically are difficult for me to really enjoy and partake in (I'm vegan and gluten free).
I was a bit skeptical about heading to the Flamingo for a pool party since that property isn't exactly known for its club scene or posh ambiance; however, I was pleasantly surprised at the semi renovated hotel interior and large, resort style pool (albeit a bit run down).
This event was awesome since we were afforded the opportunity to bring a +1, and because we were given an ample spread of food that could please just about anyone (it's noteworthy that the fruit plate included pitaya [dragon fruit] and kiwi--yum!). Alcohol also was provided and included Heineken, Ketel One, and Cruzan rum. Although the Heineken and Ketel One ran dry towards the end of the event, it seemed everyone was able to have enough to be rather tipsy (myself included), so no complaints!
My only real gripe was that despite having three cabanas, there was not enough room for my boyfriend and I to sit with the group. We ended up finding two chairs in full sun just outside the cordoned-off YEE area, but with temps near 110, I was having a hard time coping with the intense sun/heat. Furthermore, I was disappointed we couldn't socialize with more Elites since I still have yet to meet most.
Aside from the GO pool's lack of shade, I feel it was a fun environment and would return if the opportunity were to arise. Thanks to our amazing cocktail server and cabana host for a great experience, and thank you to our beloved CM, Taylor, who will be missed dearly.
