I had recently moved to Toronto about 4 1/2 months ago, and I was on the hunt for a new barber shop to take care of my luscious, yet stubborn and temperamental hair. I happened to be walking in Kensington Market and had stumbled across Proper Barbers in a back alley of Kensington Ave.
I've been to Proper Barbers three times since my first visit, and let me just tell you this place is as tight as it gets. The owners and the barbers are personable, friendly, and professional; The salon itself is hip; and can we talk about the sweet DJ booth in the back?
I've gotten my hair cut by both Patricio and Vern, both swell gentlemen with a knack for detail and tight haircuts. Every time I go in, Proper Barbers exceeds my expectations.
I'd recommend this place for anyone looking to have an affordable,easy, and pleasant experience. Also Extra ++ for the cutest dog ever that hangs around the barber shop.
