Finding a new barber is always difficult, especially because there are so few reviews for standard, regular, decently-priced businesses that cut hair on Yelp--average barbers--the reviews on here to tend be of higher-end shops, where more is at stake, and the regular clientele of old neighbourhood shops might not always realize the value in advertising what seem to be neighbourhood institutions. Albanese Salon de Barbier is probably the best barber shop I have ever been trimmed at. I have had my hair cut by both of the younger guys that work toward the front of the shop on a couple occasions. Their attention to detail is impeccable and impressive. It's simply quality, classic work. While they sometimes cut the top shorter than I like, it always looks good, which I think suggests a level of underlying skill: it's not what I wanted, but I'm happy just the same. The guys are friendly and helpful. Given the amount of time they put into getting your hair "just right," it's an incredible value for $17. (Especially in the context of a nearby barber that offers a student discount--it might be six bucks cheaper, but it looks even cheaper than that.) Wonderful, excellent, five stars for sure.
