This is the Grand Central Terminal of downtown hotels. It's busy and then some. Last weekend there were no fewer than three weddings being held at the Sheraton and it felt like it. Even though I was a paying guest, I barely managed to snag a space in the six story parking garage [$20 a night, if you must know with in/out privileges, $18 without]. That said the Sheraton reminds me of when Ronald Reagan was president, it just has that kind of era look and design. But before I get too cynical and too obnoxious, the front desk staff was very pleasant and accommodating, I got right into my very large room [with two double beds], the television worked, the room was clean, there was decent hot water and I felt safe. It was one of those too short weekend visits. In Saturday; out Sunday so I was exhausted by the time I finally hit the hay around 11:30pm. Around 2:30am in the morning, I woke up out of some apparently good dream to the sound of drunk 20 year olds in the hallway and suddenly my hotel room felt more like a dorm room. Too tired to do anything more than bury myself in the ample pillows, I tried to get back to sleep... heard walkie-talkie chatter [police?] noted quiet, heard some more noise, awoke at 7:30am and left. So, outside of the slight inconvenient location on the wrong side of the river, the fact that drunk punks stay at hotels on Saturday night and they charge too much to park, it's okay.
