I needed a rental car so I decided to go online to search for a location that was close to me. I was surprised to see the good rates that Advantage offered. It was ~$150 for Thurs - Monday morning for an intermediate car (Ford Focus). I've only had a few experiences with renting cars, and it usually was with Hertz and in a different city so I went on Yelp to get a feel for the business. I saw one very negative review, and a fake review from the business owner, which made me very skeptical.
I weighed out the pros and cons and I was willing to accept poor customer service, I was just really concerned about being accused and charged for something that wasn't justified. I decided to go ahead anyway, and I would say that I had a positive experience. The place is a bit run-down, but it offered a quick no-hassle service and even a key drop-off so that I can drop the car off when the rental place is closed. I maintained my skepticism and took pictures of the car before I drove off the lot. The person doing the car check with me was not very thorough and I had to point out a huge scrape on the car before I signed-off on the documents.
I was charged a deposit of $300, and I made sure to check that I was refunded. They netted out the charges and processed it through quickly. Overall, I had a positive experience and would rent with them again given that they are at a convenient location and their prices are very reasonable.
