I was staying at the Fremont and looking for a place to get a quick bite to eat and Du Par's drew my attention. It's located in the Golden Gate hotel and was easy enough to find.
However, I was not very impressed with the food and prices. I ordered the chicken pot pie and it just wasn't that good - didn't have a flaky crust, and the filling was just kind of average - plus, it cost around $15? Not worth it. I know a lot of people get the pancakes here, as well as the glass of shrimp cocktail, but I don't think I'd recommend their regular diner food.
Now on the other hand, their pie really is worth it. I got a slice of green apple pie and that was tasty! Sweet crust, yummy crunchy apples. I love apple pie. I'd recommend just coming here for some dessert and getting dinner elsewhere. So probably 2 stars for their regular food, and 4 for their pies = 3 overall.
