Home2 Suites by the Charlotte airport is a newly built hotel, and it shows! Everything is clean and fresh, and the quality is very nice. Home2 is in the Hilton family ; this is my first time staying at one and I am very pleased. I unfortunately got stuck in Charlotte due to storms up north and was looking for a hotel. Using the Hilton Honors app, I was able to find the hotel, book it, check in, and even get my electronic room key all while in the airplane. When I got to the hotel, I was able to bypass check-in and go straight to my room. The app on my phone is my room key : hold the phone to the door and voilà it opens! The room itself is open and airy. I always get frustrated at hotel rooms where I need to spend a few minutes figuring out how to turn on the lights - - not the case here. Switches were easily accessed and there plenty of them. The rooms have kitchen facilities, which is nice if you are staying longer. I was only in for the night so can't comment on those. There's a hotel shuttle that runs every 30 minutes or so, and that was a great added value. You really should check out this hotel next time you need a place to stay close to CLT.
