I am so happy that Cornish Pasty has opened up downtown. I loved going to the original location in Tempe while I was at ASU and the new downtown location does not disappoint!
This new location is massive. They have an upstairs dining area, a ground floor section with church pew tables like the original Cornish Pasty, outdoor area, and a downstairs area with a lounge bar vibe.
I typically got the delicious vegetarian eggplant parmesan pasty, but I decided to try the Lovely Bit of Salmon and it was indeed lovely. The salmon was delicious and tasted amazing in a pasty filled with asparagus, tomatoes, spinach and potatoes. I also tried out the Apple Caramel Pasty with ice cream for dessert which was delicious.
I've read some other reviews about slow service and have to say that I experienced the opposite. While there, our waitress came up to apologize about the wait for our food (which really didn't seem abnormally long) and us offered the free dessert. How amazing is that?!?! Talk about amazing customer service.
