I lived right around the corner from Cachet until May of this year and it used to be my "go-to" nail place. I was in the area last Saturday, so I decided to go back for a fill in. The wait was long, but that is to be expected on a Saturday. I needed a fill-in and a nail repair. I also get gel polish because it lasts longer. My nail technician was Thu and she did a good job. She didn't talk to me much, except when she told me it would cost an extra $5 to "cut my nails down". Ok, that's fine...a lot of nail salons are doing this now. When I went to check out, she handed me a slip that read "$43". I took it to the register and was CONFUSED. The girl at the register took it and said she thought Thu made a mistake. WHEW. $43 for a fill-in is crazy. She came back to inform me that it would actually be $48! Wait, what?!?! I asked her how much gel polish cost and she said $15. Ok, $20 fill-in and $15 for gel, that's $35. Soooooooo it cost me $13 more for a nail repair and a cut down? That's ridiculous, I'm sorry. The girl's response, "We charge for everything here." Yeah...apparently. I'll just go back to Dynasty nails where I can get the same quality (or better) for way less.
