Again, to make it very clear - at Apex we DON'T charge credit cards without giving you a chance to pay your bill. In fact, we work with patients all the time with payment plans. Plus we don't charge facility fees, which most big hospitals are charging. We bill the insurance company FIRST and AFTER they pay their part, if there is any remaining balance then, that is the patients responsibility. We then issue a statement to you with the remaining balance after insurance pays. The patient then has 30 days to pay this bill (just like another bill). if the balance is not paid after 30 days, then we bill the credit card. Most patients understand this policy and feels that it ads value to the visit. With electronic medical records, this is they way things will be in the future for most medical offices. So, we appreciate your comments and respect your opinion - but posting accurate information is important, so that future patients get the entire story. At the end of the day,a caring, competent physician that will go the extra mile for you, it's worth having on your corner...and if you are like most people that pays their bills on time, this policy will never affect you.
