Took advantage of a day off and bowled for an hour.
Almost didn't go in when I saw the sticker for the CFIB (Canadian Federation of Independent Business) sticker at the door. CFIB is a right-wing anti-canada organization that constantly moans about paying taxes to the country. Taxes keep dropping and have consistently since 1993 for small business and have they said enough and thank-you? No, they just keep moaning wanting to pay even less and even less than their fair share. Disgusting... Could these people who want to take and take and take and never give back (let's not pretend they hire anyone out of the goodness of their hearts, they only hire when there is customer demand which is when customers have money since income is fairly distributed) actually state which tax percentage is good enough for them and at which tax rate will stop whining? 2%? 1%? 0%?? what? Maybe we should pay them to have a business??
Anyway with members of CFIB maybe it is better to not give them business.
The lane and the pins were malfunctioning and returning the wrong number of pins and scoring incorrectly, but not doing so consistently! The scoring was clearly affected so if you are serious about your contest and this happens to you then beware of lane 23 (or any other lanes where this also happens)
Price is OK, shoes are extra $4 a pair and definitely as old as the brain of Donald Trump and his geezer followers. The thing was falling apart on my feet (no disrespect meant... to the shoe, of course the shoe has more class and knowledge than Trump and his baboons... again, no disrespect meant.... to baboons, etc. etc.) but held up for the hour. I definitely started longingly at the bowling shoes for sale at their shop!
The lady at the cash was polite and thankful. She was patient with sizes and smiling.
There is a lot more potential for World Bowl that is unrealized. The bar, eating area and fast food counter could be so much better as they have the clientele and space so why limit yourself to crappy junk food? Offer something fresh and fun and people might stay there!
If they cleaned up that area and offered nice food perhaps their corporate photos on top of this page would actually come true.
Speaking of which the adjacent restaurant Yu Guo Han is almost an aquarium. Picked up the restaurant's business card at World Bowl and the restaurant manager's e-mail reads master@...com - no joke. Wouldn't want to work for that guy!
By the way, they had not really cleared their parking lot of ice and snow so felt like my grandmother as I gingerly approached their door and the car after leaving!
