One of those very Pittsburgh things that you take for granted like a solid plate of pirogies and a pitcher of yeungling for 9 dollars. As unpretentious and for the people as it gets - they even let smoking indoors.
I grew up in the area but moved to DMV by the time I was 10. Dc does not remotely have as much of a connection to Germany and Poland as pburgh does so there goes all your pork and sauerkraut and catholic heritage. I happen to be a bit of a germanophile (latent conditioning?) that I am compelled to come back to pburgh regularly and relish in pirogies, cheap beer, and my adoration for eat n Park Just for old times sake. Pittsburgh makes dc look sterile and puritanical in comparison.
