Honestly, not that bad of a place. I understand that as the nearest bar to those in South Oakland, it has a monopoly of sorts. However, this is not to say that they take advantage of their position. The prices are fairly reasonable (especially for their food). The burgers are bad (they look like burgers you get as a crappy high school lunch) but the buffalo fries are delicious and they give you a lot of dipping sauce when you ask for it. I know they have Blue Moon drafts for $2.50 which is cheaper than anywhere else that I know of in Oakland. The bartenders are really friendly and, as it is a small bar, they get to know you quickly. The main issues I have are the bad burgers and the fact that they always have Pirates games on (and thus, always have Pirates fans yelling at the TVs).
