This place has good, fresh doughnuts. On my first visit, I was drawn in by the sandwich board advertising a special nanaimo bar doughtnut. It was good, though I expected the cream inside to be sweet and dense like the cream layer in a nanaimo bar, but it was just regular doughtnut cream. (On that visit, I liked what my partner had ordered more, but now I can't remember what flavour it was.) On a second visit, more recently, my doughnut tasting partner and I stayed far, far away from the cream-filled and tried the buttered toast doughtnut and a sticky toffee doughnut. Both were yummy. I don't feel completely blown away by these doughnuts, but they are definitely top tier (in a world that has obviously forgotten that doughnuts should be greasier... I'm trying to get with the times). Two doughnuts run you $8-9, so Glory Hole is just a sometimes place, which is just fine with me. See you again, though probably not until several months or more from now!
