If this gym cost $30/month, it'd be worth four stars. There are just too many drawbacks to justify a better rating for the current asking price of $55.
The good:
* handy location
* nice lifting equipment
* generally clean
* rarely crowded
* no complaints about the staff
The bad:
* All bikes are analog, which is OK but there's no way to measure heart rate or select a reproduce-able resistance setting since they just have little dials to set resistance. There's no clock visible and it's tricky to balance a phone on them, so it's hard to tell how much you've done. They're probably fine for spin class if you want to bu ya heart rate monitor.
* The ellipticals would be nicer if their screens and headphones worked. One machine has also had caved-in footrests since I started at this location a few months ago. If you go in reverse or stop for a split second, they wipe out your info immediately.
* no showers and no lockers - just two bathrooms to change
* I tried to go today (a Sunday) but my card wouldn't unlock the door. If it's a payment issue, I never got any email or phone call to notify me. So the door is broken or they don't do a good job of billing notifications.
* The Snap website has no billing info
I'd be happy to overlook the various issues if this was a more value-oriented gym, but there are too many hassles to justify the asking price.
