Someone needs to be trained in basic business phone etiquette and customer service skills. Just tried to call to make an appointment to get our Honda Fit serviced. On my first try, the main line rang a few times, after which someone picked it up and immediately hung up on me. I called back and was put through to the service department on what almost sounded like a party line. (Do those even exist anymore?) This time, the phone rang about twenty times, after which the main operator asked me rather diffidently if I wanted to continue holding, and I said, "Well, it sounds as if they must be rather busy back there, so I'll get my service elsewhere," after which I was summarily disconnected with no apology or explanation. The irony is the entire interaction (if that's what one could call it) was preceded by a recorded voice assuring me that my call was important to them. Um, I beg to differ. I went to Jiffy Lube up the street and was out in less than half an hour.
