Went last weekend to test drive my possible next vehicle. Trading in my 14 BMW. Told the salesman that I wanted to test drive a NX250. I handed him my DL (not my first rodeo) and he handed me a form to fill out (name, phone # and email). I filled out my name and email address and handed it back to him. He handed it back to me stating he needed my phone number. I told him no, if he wanted to reach me, he can email me. He then stated it was dealership policy that they need my phone number or I can't take it out for a test drive. I said "really". Never mind, there are other Lexus dealerships in the area and I will do business with them. He then said, but let me show you the car. I then said, "you want to show me the car but I can't test drive it unless you have my phone number. I don't think so." I have owned 4 Lexus in the last 20 years. This is not how a good Lexus dealership treats a potential customer.
