Wow!!! I usually hate grocery shopping, but this outpost of Longo's is actually pretty impressive and user friendly.
I stumbled in during a weekend getaway at Le Germain Hotel when I started to get the munchies. So instead of breaking the bank and paying 10 bucks for a small can of Pringles from the hotel mini bar, I sauntered on down to Longo's and boy was it worth it!
Most of the previous reviews cover a good spectrum of what makes this particular Longo's special so I'll keep my props short:
-There is a Starbucks and more importantly there is a BAR IN HERE and they pour craft beers, how cool is that!
-Super convenient especially during winter months to access via underground connection to the Path and to Le Germain Hotel.
- Three words OVEN FIRED PIZZA!
-They sell fancy gourmet dog food in refrigerated rolls! Paws-up!!!
-Try the adorably chic mini-mousse cups for $1.99 each available from the dessert counter, especially the raspberry which has a twinge of Champagne flavour to it, you'll thank me later.
-Good looking youngish and very friendly clientele, expect to get multiple come-ons (really?) and even invited to dinner by an adorable gay Asian couple who want to make you some homemade veggie shu-mai!! Ni Hao!!
-It's super clean and tidy in here, an OCD person's dream of a grocery experience!
Ummm Longo's on 15 York st??? Yeah I think I have a big crush on you ;)
