This store did nothing while I was screamed at by a man with his wife and little girls in the self checkout line. I was in the store with my dog who is very well behaved to grab one item. I know he gets excited by small children so I'm always on watch and keeping a tight lead on him in those circumstances. Since this store doesn't think having a checker open is appropriate and only had self checkout available I had to get in line. In that instance Jack pulled forward a few feet on his leash towards this man's little girls. Granted, Jack is fast but was also low on the ground (submissive) and is a Golden Retriever. This man lost his mind and began berating me for having my dog in the store. Claimed I didn't have control even though Jack was corrected and never touched his kids. The store policy states that service and support animals are allowed. I tried apologizing if he frightened the girls and reassured him that my dog was just a puppy and wouldn't hurt a fly. He continued to yell and use profanities at me. His wife then tried to say in a nice tone that she really didn't think my dog should be there. I told her that by law my dog is allowed. At no point during any of this did a manager or employee step in. I allowed 4 customers to go ahead of me just to keep distance between me and this man. I was pretty shaken and the self checkout monitor did ask if I was okay after I finally paid for my one item. Sad that a grown man thinks yelling at a woman in front of his daughters is setting a good example. Also sad that Lowes felt me being verbally assaulted in their store was okay.
