What a "sweet" place!
I attended the 5th Annual Root Beer Tasting event this past weekend at Village Candy, which was also an invitation to explore Sewickley for the first time. The shop is nestled into a storefront near the end of the "downtown" drag and features a variety of old-time candies and new-love specialty chocolates -- and one of the best bottled sodas selections this side of the Allegheny. The root beer tasting featured seven different "brews" (all-but-one I could confirm online that was gluten free!), and the sample sizes were the perfect pour -- especially for a free event! The staff was in wonderful spirits welcoming an all-ages crowd that circled the shop for nearly an hour; we all enjoyed the youthful sugar high.
