I had been staying at the Embassy Suites, having been asked to move to Montreal quite last-minute at the beginning of the year, but my company started to balk when they saw a few of the bills start to come in (the Embassy's charge for parking is outrageous) and asked me to consider more budget-friendly accommodation. Candlewood was by far the cheapest on the list of hotels, so I wasn't expecting much but I have to tell you, I've been pleasantly surprised. The furnishings are a bit of a put-off, being pretty well worn, but in general the rooms are clean and safe, the location is fairly central (only a block or two out of the way), and parking is a cool $9/night plus tax. I've been here almost a week now and I'm happy enough to have recommended it to the next company member coming out for work here. It's just such great value for the money!
