I stay here about 8 times a year and I love the location and layout of the entire place. If they would just invest some money in the rooms this place would be great again. Sadly every time I return I can tell they are cutting costs more and more.
The rooms need some TLC- they have the old loud AC units, the room doors don't seal at the bottom so little critters can come in, the towels are stiff and half the channels are fuzzy. But man- the damn pool is great! The location and rates are great. So you do have some pretty good perks that make up for what the rooms lack.
Tip- skip the restaurant at the hotel- its boring.
Instead walk through the hotel to AZ88- it's a fantastic place right next door for an inexpensive drink/dinner with a ton of atmosphere and is located next to the art museum and old town where there's always fun things going on.
