What a great, free zoo! We came here while in Madison and had a great time. It's FREE, so it would be worth a visit even if it weren't that great, but we were actually surprised how much we enjoyed it. There's a lion family (including a very cute cub), some playful orangutans, giraffes, rhinos, a reptile house, a polar bear (although he was hiding), a tiger, sea otters, etc. It took us about an hour to walk around the zoo, although we could have easily spent more time watching the animals, especially the lions. I think it's so nice that the city of Madison has such a fun, free, family-oriented activity. The zoo gift shop was also nice, with a good selection of stuffed animals.
