This was my boyfriend and I'd first time coming here. We ordered a dozen cold gulf shucked oysters, fried alligator, shrimp creole and grits, and Atlantic salmon Alexander. The oysters were great, the shells were pretty dirty on the outside that my bf's napkin had so many black smudges on it but I mean you don't put the shell in your mouth so I didn't mind as much as he did. The fried alligator was so tasty and the sauce it came with was awesome and zingy! It also came with these shoestring like fried potato thingys. I ordered the shrimp creole and grits and a baked potato on the side. I have never had grits before but MAN, were those so good!!! And so was the shrimp creole, it had okra, green bell beepers, and I think tomato chunks. My bf ordered the Atlantic salmon Alexander with dirty rice and he said it was the best salmon he's ever had. It was topped with grilled shrimp and scallops and the flavors were perfection. Biggest baked potato I've ever had btw.
For dessert we ordered the double turtle brownie topped with Haagen Daaz ice cream and Caramel sauce. Since it was our first time they comped the dessert which was so nice of them!
Only reason I gave 4/5 stars was for less than perfect service time management.
We got seated, 10 min later he came and asked what drinks we wanted and we ordered apps. 15 min later our waters came. Another 15-20 min our drinks and bread came out. Then another 15-20 min he came and took our orders. The food didn't take too long to come out but when we would look for him to order things it felt like he was no where to be found. We were there for 2 and a half hours and even though we weren't in a rush it felt like a long time.
Benefit of the doubt, they are a big restaurant with an always packed Saturday night. So if you go on a Saturday night, just be prepared to enjoy some quality time with whoever you go with.
