The chocolates are sort of 'meh'. Mostly, they just taste of dark chocolate. The infusions and various flavorings are so faint, it's really difficult to get a fix on what they are supposed to be. I consume quite a bit of very decent chocolates, from a number of chocolatiers- in fact those are the #1 places I go when I travel. So it's really not just me. :) I had a coupon for a free box of 'Spring Fling' selection of chocolates, and used it for a Mother's day gift. Well, then I won this other thing for mother's day my mom will like MUCH more, and decided to test out the box myself. The pamphlet with the box states there's 15 types, but the box only has 9. Ok, well, I get that there may be any of the 15 in there. I looked on the website, and the picture shows ROWS of chocolates to be included in this box, so there's a pretty big strike 1. One of the chocolates in the box isn't on the pamphlet OR the website- strike 2. ALL the the chocolates except for one (the Lucy- which was really actually pretty interesting) were flavored so faintly, I could barely taste the difference- strike 3. PLUS they were HARD. I mean tooth-hurty hard. It wasn't a temperature thing, just likely a fat content of the chocolate thing. Since each piece is really large, and at least 3 bites (some more), this is an actual problem. Each chocolate was from a different shaped mold, but the variations on color were either from colored white chocolate or painted on- which is nice and fine. Not every chocolatier needs to invest in edible pearl dust. However, the colors were red, white and blue. While this is very patriotic, it looked pretty odd on dark chocolate. Really too bad, too. I know that the owner was behind the counter the day I went in, and it's a local company. I'll not necessarily recommend them, but if you're on Monroe street and want chocolate, try it. But just pick one flavor you're interested in, and go for that one first. If you like it, then try more.
