Have you ever been hyped about a game that you saw and wanted it really bad when it comes out? So much so that you decide to pre-order it so you can experience every single minute of it, from playing with 500 people online, real life graphics and all that? But when you got the game and popped it into your Xbox or PlayStation or whatever, all you experienced was disappointment. All the things that they advertised wasn't there and the things that were looked half-assed. Well now you can experience that in real life at OdySea Aquarium. The kind of place where when you order tickets, you have to select a time slot to show up instead of just walking in with your ticket at any time. A place where the tanks are cloudy and you can barely see any of the creatures. A place where the fish look stressed out since there's no real live sea anemones or very little water flow. And the cherry on top, not all of the special attractions are even ready after months of being opened to the public and where instead of having a certain species in a tank, they replaced them with other fish (no jellyfish or nautiluses, at all).
Yea, this place is a huge let down from all of the advertisement that they had. The SeaTrek tank is less than 200ft long so expect to walk in some water for about 15 minutes. Side not, the tank is murky as can be and is still not ready. There's also not much interaction with the whole place, you basically walk from one tank to the next. It would be nice if they had more information about species instead of just the name and scientific name of it. Even better would be if they had more workers around if people had questions. Also, I'm talking to you OdySea people, a few screens jumbled up with info is not interesting to read.
They say that you'll spend 3 or more hours there, nope. My girlfriend and I spent an hour and a half seeing everything but the 3D movie. The whole place was not interesting, the decor was basic, painted walls with decals, some hanging fake animals. There wasn't really anything shouting, hey check this out or hey over here. Just simple painted fish on the wall. Really, the place felt like window shopping. Walk over here, oh nice fish. Walk over there, oh ok, that's a different fish. Then walk here, mmm more fish. For people expecting to see lots of saltwater fish, save your money. Most of the tanks in the aquarium are fresh water. Meaning you'll see bass, trout, fish that you see at pet stores.
