I was looking around for a place to go for drinks, nibbles and some dancing that wasn't a club, and after asking around, I decided on Pravda.
I called about a week prior to make a reservation for a fairly large party, and the person I talked to on the phone was very helpful and accommodating. She also advised us that there would be a minimum $400.00 spending limit for a party my size.
When we got there, we realized that our reserved table was right beside the entrance, and that it was barely big enough for all of us. Either way, we all managed to pile in and soon our server was introducing herself to us. We wanted to get a couple of bottles and some food, so she took us to the back freezer to try some Vodka's before we made our decision. We also got a couple of platters of cold cuts and cheeses.
My major problem with this place was that it was freezing by our table! Because we were right by the door, and people kept coming in and out, we had cold gusts of wind hitting us every few minutes. Some of my friends even kept their coats on the whole time. You'd think that with all the time they had to secure our reservation, they could've at least given us a better table, away from the damn cold.
We came on a Friday and the place was packed!!! It was really hard to move through the crowds to get to the bathroom or to the upstairs area, where there's a kind of "dance floor". Once we did make it to the "dance floor" we realized that it was equally full and it was hard to find even a little bit of space where to dance. The music selection was pretty decent though, and they had bogo and drum players that would play along to the music, which was kinda cool.
All in all, we had a decent time but its not a place I would return to unless I had to. The food was really good, and their Vodka selection is impressive (and I love Vodka) , but I just wasn't too impressed with the place in general. I prefer to go to places where I will be able to move around a bit without hitting someone.
