I have been a longtime fan of Yama but sadly it has progressively gone down hill the last few visits. I have never liked how they cram every last seat they can into the place to the point of causing discomfort to their guests. I am not sure what they think those little shoji screens do but they might as well remove them. You feel as if you are dining with the people at the next table. It is awkward and uncomfortable.
I had put up with this because the sushi was absolutely amazing but unfortunately it is no longer as fresh as it once was. The rolls now seem like a small step up from supermarket sushi. Either the chefs don't care as much, the quality of the ingredients has been downgraded, or probably a combination of both.
