Family style - so expect super tasty comfort dishes of extra gigantic proportion, nothing fussy or molecular here. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. Not a miss - all good. A garlic/lemon roast chicken scarpariello had the perfect crispy skin and succulent meat that makes you eat too much. Our rigatoni with broccoli and sausage was big, lively and nicely al dente. A nice variety in the bread basket, and my limoncello martini was totally foo-foo but I have to admit I liked it a lot (I accept the shame). I asked if they offered affogato for dessert, no. But our waiter was right on it, brought some really good vanilla ice cream and a double espresso on the side. Nice. Seriously, you should bring four hungry people if you're going to order two main dishes. You still may not finish. Carmine's is doing a great job even if they are big and corporate. It's in the Forum Shops, the epitome of simulacrum. But somehow it all works and you feel like you had a nice break from whatever conference you came for. Mangia bene, mangia tropo!
