We visited quite a few preschools before choosing Best Pals. All three of my kids have gone through Best Pals and were prepared for Kindergarten.
(1) Best Pals has highly qualified teachers with low turnover. We had many of the same teachers all 5 years. They are a very compassionate and well-educated group of teachers.
(2) Not only are student/teacher ratios low (some years we even had 8:1 ratio depending on the day), the class sizes themselves are smaller, which was very important for me. Some of the other larger preschools we visited (Tutor Time, Children's Learning Adventure, Kindercare, Scottsdale Learning Center) had very large classes (and state max ratio as well)... the larger classes are very chaotic and create a more stressful, noisy environment for especially the younger kids. Best Pals has a calmer atmosphere, and a much more personal environment. It's a small local business rather than a big box preschool. The teachers at BP will know your child well and will be able to give personal updates at pick up each day.
(3) Best Pals is a 'true preschool' with a solid curriculum for both academic and extracurricular activities.
(4) Best Pals offers a flexible schedule at a fair price. I wanted a part-time preschool (not full time daycare), and most other preschools required pricey minimum hours/fees.
(5) I liked the location of Best Pals. While my work office was south, it actually took less time to travel to the convenient Tatum/Cave Creek location due to low traffic in the area. Much more pleasant drive than other congested preschool locations.
(6) The owner really cares and greets each family/child by name each morning. Your child will not be 'just a number' here.
