What I love about Kaelin's is there is just so much you get out of shopping here. It's a local farm, so you're supporting your neighbors' business. The majority of the produce they sell is grown on their property, so it's fresh, delicious, and good for you. It's got that cozy farmer's market feel to it. They have a quaint kitchen area where you can order all sorts of sandwiches from your basic PBJ to a Pesto Pita sandwich. On my most recent visit, I had the chicken salad sandwich on whole wheat bread, while my mom had the chicken salad on a pretzel roll. The chicken salad is fresh, well seasoned, and has none of that mystery meat you get at other places. If you'd like, they'll put tomato and lettuce on the sandwich, which of course you gotta get. The tomato is a nice, thick, juicy slice of tomato. Not those flimsy see through slices at other sandwich places. The lettuce was a deep green color with real flavor. At this place, the lettuce and tomato really play a role in the taste of the sandwich instead of a routine add-on. They both came with a soft snickerdoodle cookie that tasted like it was probably made by somebody's grandmother. We sat outside at well maintained picnic tables looking out into the orchards. It was a pretty delightful experience on a warm, summer day.
Oh, and all the employees were very friendly and helpful. You could tell they were passionate about this family farm and this feeling showed in all that they did. I will definitely be back here!
