Disclaimer: I'm not gluten free.
My friend suggested this place as the new thanngg on Monroe, and I was really excited! He wanted to test it out because his gf is gluten free and he'd heard great things. So, we trek on over around 10:30. Beautiful ambience (love the greenery with the white and turquoise!), and a good sized line that did however move quickly. Everything looked delicious and beautiful so I ordered the Wisconsin biscuit, the cinnamon roll cupcake thing, and a miel.
At this point, those who know me say, what, Amanda, no iced tea??? Well, they do have some! But it was a blueberry herbal and a green tea and my love is black tea, so I got coffee. But I digress.
Overall, I think the food was very... Okay. It was fine. The big thing I thought throughout the meal was, I've had better. I like the biscuit sandwich at 4&20 better (the biscuit here was pretty dense and the stone ground mayo, which I usually love, overpowered everything else in the sandwich), the cinnamon roll was wayyy too sweet, and the miel was fine, but I like the one from Cafe Domestique better.
I really do think my problem was that I'm not gf, though, and that kind of makes it an unfair comparison (hence the disclaimer). I think this place would be AMAZING for those gluten free with all the great options... I just am not.
I'm chalking this up to a great place to go if I've got GF friends in town, but I don't know if I'd go on my own otherwise.
