On November 14th I was scheduled to have an EGD and EUS with Dr. Ali. Due to the procedures requiring anesthesia I was told I would not be able to drive myself. So I hired transportation. My arrival time was 11:00 for the procedure time of 12:00. The staff was friendly and the facility clean, but those were the ONLY pluses from my experience. To spare some length, I'll say that I got home at 4:30 without either procedure being done! They got behind and at the last minute asked me if I had someone at home who was going to keep an eye on me for a few hours, to which I told them I didn't. They said that it was a requirement yet neither the confirmation e-mail or phone call mentioned this. I was referred there because it had already been confirmed that there is a tumor on my pancreas. Needless to say, there was much emotional and mental preparation on my part to face the findings once the procedures were done. So I spent 6 hours (including travel time) to only be told I would have to reschedule because they failed to mention the 'at-home care requirement'. I will not be going back to that facility and, at present, still am unaware if I have cancer, or what stage it might be in.
