Yes, this restaurant is really as good as people say it is. Although I was initially shocked by the clear plastic lawn chairs at the dining room tables, everything else about the experience was absolutely perfect. Except for maybe our too-cool-for-school server in his converse high-tops and skinny jeans. But I will totally overlook that because he was somewhere nearby when we needed him. Albeit with a totally blasé look on his face. But our orders were perfect and we wanted for nothing.
We met some friends for dinner after the DNC cleared out of town and, truthfully, fourth ward was eerily empty. No worries ... plenty of room at the bar to enjoy a cocktail before dinner. Everything from drinks to snacks to entrees to desserts (we had 3...) were absolutely delicious. There was not one less than perfect plate of food that was placed in front of us. And, not surprisingly, every plate was sent back to the kitchen perfectly cleaned. Szechuan pork belly, beet slider, mussels, cheese plate, salmon, grouper ... you name it, we devoured it. I cannot wait to go back and try out some more of their amazing food and lounge out in the plastic lawn chairs with friends.
