I go to cafes in Cave Creek (such as Janey's) whenever I need some fresh air away from work. Initially, we wanted to try ROC2 because we were very impressed by the coffee served at Mat's Big Breakfast. We went there on a nice Saturday morning, but it was too late when we realized that they don't work on Saturdays and Sundays. So we searched for a good one nearby and decided to try Carefree Coffee. Well, coffee and tea were both great. I prefer tea, but both were delicious to me! What was better was their pastries. We had a piece of hazelnut-sth cake because we were hungry, and I mean, IT WAS REALLY GOOD. I had to try their cookies too even though I was full, and there were amazing as well. It turned out that the mother of the barista (the owner?) was the baker, and I can tell that she is an amazing baker! And they were originally from Germany, so it seems like they have European style baking, which I prefer. In terms of the quality of pastries, I think they can compete with Essence bakery in Phx. I am definitely coming back on a nice weekend morning sooner or later! Highly recommend to anyone nearby.
