The first time we used this company, they did the first floor of our house amazingly. So it was no surprise that I chose them to do the second floor of our house, this past October. HUGE MISTAKE!!! At everything seemed to be great, picked out a beautiful vinyl plank flooring and set up financing. WHAT A JOKE!! So I was approved for half, which could be paid monthly, and the remaining half would need to be paid immediately. But I was forced to pay the entire thing of immediately. Yet I'm receiving notifications from Mohawk flooring about payments, keep in mind I paid in full a well after the flooring was installed.
The owner measured the flooring and the price was provided, nothing was explained about the baseboards, I assumed I would eventually get new ones and I was informed I would have to remove the two toilets from the bathrooms, one toilet was stuck on a bolt and since I couldn't get it, I gave up seeing tools I was using on the floor near the toilet. I also was using my new drill in the guest room to set up shelving. The charger and extra battery were on a shelf in the closet of that room.
I had placed loose clothing in plastic trash bags to avoid dust asks debris, 8 bags because I wanted to avoid doing laundry. I even pointed out the bags to the only English speaking worker.
The flooring was laid in the opposite direction than I had asked for, they had already wasted several boxes before I noticed this and figured, oh well. The entire timex the English speaking worker would come down stairs where I was and demand I hire him to do the baseboards but informed me I was not allowed to tell anyone or he would get into trouble. His price originally was $450 and by the end of the day, he was quoting me over $1000. A female showed up and she told me stories of her husband being murdered by her boyfriend and I immediately thought this was a huge mistake, allowing these people into my house.
At the end of the day, I was impressed with the flooring, they didn't clean the floors at the end of the day, stole all the tools I had laid out, minus the actual drill. The 8 bags of clothing were missing as well.
A well after the flooring was finished, a few days had gone by, the worker offering to do the baseboards showed up at my house demanding I hire him to do the baseboards. He was visibly upset and I told him to leave and not return. I immediately went to the store to pay the half I was originally instructed to pay, but I had to pay in full.
After being forced to pay the entire floor off, which I thankfully could, but was only anticipating on paying half and making monthly payments on the other half, I informed the owner of everything. I was also told that they could have put the original baseboards back in, but they were literally destroyed when being quickly ripped off and I was never given the option to reuse them.
The owner told me he would look into everything but never did. I had to purchase new tools and slowly rebuilding my wardrobe.
This company does NOT care about you and sends thrives into your home! I was told I would receive follow up concerning this matter yet no one has contacted me.
***Update***
This morning I received a phone call starting the owner was willing to reimburse for the stolen tools, nothing about the clothing and no apology. I thanked them for the thought but the clothing cost more than the couple hundred dollars of tools. It was nice but I'm done with them, my stairs will be completed by another company, my relationship with this company is over.
