Friday night's show fell flat after the first 20 minutes of very regionally-based jokes about TTC, John Tory, etc. What floored me (and not in a good way) is the sketch about a black guy getting shot by a cop! You could hear a pin drop during that sketch. I could tell what was coming before the guy fell down and I said Noooo! quite audibly (I have a big voice naturally) and was immediately approached by an usher not to yell out --- what? This is a comedy club and I'm not allowed to react? Many sketches requested audience participation so I was taken aback by being told not to speak out during a performance. I used to go to the old Firehall in the 70s so if this is the future of comedy, I'm happy to never go back to Second City again ... and I'm also a student there. Too bad, so sad, and see ya around someday never.
