Service Only Review. New Car Inspection. Save $140! Don't do it.
Was looking at a Lexus Rx400h that I was going to purchase from another dealer. Paid Lexus Las Vegas $140 for a pre-purchase inspection. Here's what they found: 1) Washer fluid low, 2) Rear wiper worn- $15, 3) Rear Strut leaking-$578. 4) Cabin filter dirty-$81. They said the car was otherwise in good shape. I bought the car.
After 1 day of ownership, this is what I found (I'm not a mechanic at all): 1) Pink oily leak from front, 2) Keys do not work in door or glove box, 3) Rear window trim was held on by duct tape (fixed for $60 off ebay). Called Lexus. Their response: re-key door, $400. Window trim, $150 for window + install ($100-200). Plus above cost.
I'm actually ok w/ all of that BUT... I was looking at another Lexus at Lexus Carlsbad, CA when the salesman asked what I was driving. When I told him (the car just inspected 2 wks ago by Vegas Lexus) , he asked me if it had cracks in the dash. I said yes. He said do you know that is covered by Lexus???!!! $713.22 + install. They did it for free. Saved me over $1K! Also, the warranty would have expired in 2 weeks if he didn't ask me! The service advisor said this is a widely known issue and EVERY Lexus service advisor/tech knows about it.
Ps: found out the pink fluid was coolant. Paid $500 for new radiator...another miss for Lexus Las Vegas!!
