Unbeatable value, I will definitely be back next time I'm strapped for cash. One of the best under $15 haircuts I've ever had. Salme really took her time to get the haircut right - I got a pixie and I got the impression I was her first one ever, but she has very good innate skills and attention to detail. It turned out a little on the old fashioned side, but still a good cut, just not 100% what I wanted (or what I showed a picture of). Still, I've paid a lot more for a worse cut. I have very thick, slightly coarse hair, and she knew how to deal with it. If you are wanting a simple and basic cut, I think you will be very happy.
You can pay with cash or card. It was pretty packed when I came in, and the vast majority of the customers were very elderly, and most of the hairdressers are middle-aged. I actually like this place better than some of the other walk-in cheapo places though, with all hairdressers that just got out of beauty school. These women have much more experience and skill. It's just not the best place for the most modern cuts.
