After reluctantly giving in to the fact that I am getting older and need glasses, I saw a commercial on TV for America's Best and their offer of a free eye exam and 2 pairs of frames for 69.95. At first I called for an appointment, but I ended up hanging up because I could barely hear the girl on the other end of the phone, and I was placed on hold for 10 minutes! After hanging up, I scheduled my appointment online. I received a call back a few minutes after scheduling confirming my 12:20 appointment. Upon arrival I walked into the store and was greeted. I checked in, filled out the necessary forms, then while waiting for my appointment I looked at and picked out my frames. They have a large selection of designer and non designer frames. I took my selections to the desk for them to be held, and went back for my appointment. The first step is the pre testing. The woman who did the pre testing seemed kind of strung out. She kept mumbling to herself and laughing about things that were not really funny. She at one point said "I really don't know what's wrong with me, must be brain damage" then proceeded to giggle. She may have been joking, but I didn't find it one bit funny. In fact I found it unprofessional. After the pre testing I waited a few minutes for the doctor to get me. I went back for the test, which was quick. The doctor seemed knowledgeable and took time to explain my vision issues and answer my questions. After the exam, I went out to the reception area and met with an office e employee to get my glasses ordered and paid for. They tried to sell a lot of upgrades, but I opted for the basic frames and lenses. One pair is sunglasses for no extra charge. Overall I felt the experience was okay, not top of the line customer service but just okay. I am anxious to pick up my glasses in a couple weeks.
